Letters that wait

Some feelings
deserve an opening.

More than a message in a chat. A few words, sealed for someone special, with a little moment of anticipation before they read them.

Free during beta · No app needed to receive it

How it works

A thought. A letter.
A little closer.

01Write a few heartfelt words

Make a small moment feel personal.

02Give it an opening

Preview the reveal. One gentle pull slides the cover away and lets your words appear.

03Send it your way

Share the link in a chat or through your email app. They open it in their browser.

Start with a few words

Make it personal.

Choose the occasion and write up to 300 characters. Your letter takes shape as you type.

For all the little things you do that make my life brighter. I'm so lucky to have you.

Why Unfold

A little ceremony.
For your words.

A thank-you can get lost between notifications. A letter asks for a moment: a pause, a gentle pull, and something written just for them.

Write something worth opening ↗

An opening to remember

The recipient pulls the tab to reveal your message. A simple gesture that makes a few words feel considered.

Entirely your words

For an inside joke, a small apology, or the thing you keep meaning to say. No perfect prose required.

A link, sent your way

Share in your usual chat or email app. Your recipient can open the letter in a browser, without signing up.

A moment they can revisit

The same link opens the letter again. Save it somewhere special and return to those words while the card is available.

Big days. Ordinary Tuesdays.

There's always
something to say.

It doesn't have to be a grand occasion. Sometimes “I thought of you” is the whole reason.

“Another year of you.
How lucky are we?”
For their birthday
“For all the little things.
I notice. Thank you.”
For a little gratitude
“No special occasion.
Just a special person.”
For absolutely no reason
An invitation to try

A small gesture, freely given.

Creating and sharing letters is free during the beta. You can start without an account, and there's no checkout.

A few good questions

Before you

What to expect when you create, share, and open a letter with Unfold.

Read about privacy & sharing ↗
Does the recipient need an app or an account?

No. They open your link in a browser on their phone or computer and pull the tab to reveal the message. An Unfold account is optional for the sender, too.

How do I send my letter?

Write your message, then choose “Continue to Send.” Copy the card link into your usual chat, use your phone's share menu, or choose “Email it” to open your own email app with the link ready.

Who can read the letter?

Anyone who has its link. Share it only with the people you want to read it. Signing in doesn't make the link password-protected. More about privacy & sharing.

Can I change a letter after sharing it?

A shared link keeps the version you sent. Editing the form and continuing to Send creates a new link. An unsent draft stays in the current page, so copy your words somewhere safe before refreshing.

Can they open the letter again later?

Yes, the same link opens the letter again while it remains available. Unfold is in beta, so we can't promise permanent storage. Keep another copy of words you don't want to lose.

Is Unfold free?

Creating, opening, and sharing letters is currently free during beta. You don't need to enter payment details.

What about the folding iPhone effects?

The website uses the standard pull-tab opening. The extra Book, Bloom, and Split options are for the Unfold app on a folding iPhone; selecting one doesn't change how a letter opens in the browser.
